Monday Ratings: Repeats Rule the Night

Sadly, a heaping of reality shows could not compete with a crop of stale programs. FOX’s dramatic lineup ended up winning the night in both the viewers and the demos.

Monday Ratings: Repeats Outperform Originals

Although Nashville Star did better on NBC than it ever did on the USA, the reality competition did little for the Peacock network. CBS wound up taking the evening in both the viewers and the demos.

Billy Ray Cyrus on Nashville Star

  • * (7.3 million, 2.1/7 in 18-49) was up 600,000 over last week.
  • ’ airing of The Bill Engvall Show (1.9/6) attracted 6.4 million; (6.3 million, 2.2/7) was up slightly.
  • (6.4 million, 2.2/7) was down by 100,000.
  • (1.9/6) seemed small with 5.6 million.

Monday Ratings: The Mole Fails to Surface

Several years out of the public eye didn’t help last night’s premiere of The Mole much. The show placed last in its hour and put ABC in third place yesterday. Meanwhile, FOX was a winner with the viewers while NBC had a narrow victory in the demos.

The Mole

Monday Ratings: American Gladiators Still Weak

Despite the lack of new episodes, American Gladiators was still fairly unimpressive. Although the program showed improvement, it was overpowered by comedic repeats. In the end, CBS swept the night in both the viewers and the demos.

Monday Ratings: Tight Race Between CBS, ABC and FOX

A night of finales helped CBS place first in both categories last night.  Meanwhile, ABC came in a close second with the viewers while FOX narrowly lost out in the demos.

2008 Summer Television Programming Schedule

The Bachelorette, DeAnna Pappas

A new season calls for a new schedule.

If you’re without anything to do this summer, this updated programming schedule may help keep you occupied.  Over the next few months, networks will be introducing a crop of reality shows (Celebrity Circus, Greatest American Dog), some experimental dramas (Swingtown, Fear Itself) and the usual horde of repeats.

This list is a

compilation of the calendars

for the five major networks.

Monday Ratings: Weak Premiere for American Gladiators

Why NBC chose to bring back American Gladiators at this time is beyond me.  Had the show debuted after the latest round of finales, it might have fared better than fourth place.  Meanwhile, ABC was another winner with the viewers while FOX was tops in the demos.

This Week on TV (5/5-5/11)

CSI Miami

(You can view TV Envy’s Post-Strike Television Schedule here.)

MONDAY (5/5)
  • Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9:00):  (The script was written by scribes.) “George Eads (CSI) has a cameo in which a CSI team investigates a death at Charlie’s house.”  I know Charlie wanted to stop Denise’s reality show, but this is quite a sweeps stunt.
  • House (FOX, 9pm):  “House believes that an actor (Jason Lewis) on his favorite soap is seriously ill after observing his symptoms on television, so he decides to intervene.”  If I had known something like that would work, I would have kidnapped Smith Jerrod a long time ago.
  • Samantha Who? (ABC, 9:30pm):  “Sam’s affair with Todd continues while he’s still seeing a clueless Chloe.”  I’m sorry—why doesn’t Sam just kick her out of her apartment again?  She does own the thing, doesn’t she?
  • CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm):  “Alexx is stunned when her son is the prime suspect in a murder investigation, and any help she offers could prove costly.”  Buh-bye, Khandi!
